Water is more quickly drained from the road surface making it safer for traffic. Also water from below the surface (which reduces damage to road and bridge) can be drained by a so called sub-surface drainage integrated in the systems.
The main aspect of the design is the continuous series of openings in the edge along the road. These drain most of the water before it can penetrate the road surface. A second series of openings below the road surface prevents excessive stress from water that was absorbed by the (ZOAB) asphalt. The integrated channel in the unit drains the water.
Bridge Drainage works with products that quickly and effectively drain both the water from the road surface and the so-called sub-surface water. The specially formulated material creates a mirror smooth surface that drains the water very quickly.
